Learn to Freestyle Class

The Albany Figure Skating Club’s program is designed for skaters who are ready to advance from Basic Skills to freestyle skating skills. The curriculum teaches skating skills at a faster pace, begins to introduce skaters to advanced skills, and prepares them to advance to the “test track” or Free Skate figure skating levels.

Class Full.

Skaters must be a current member of Learn to Skate USA for the 2020-2021 Season. Skaters will not be allowed on the ice unless membership with Learn to Skate USA and the waiver of liability have been completed. Register now.

Necessary Equipment:
Proper fit and lacing of ice skates (we recommend Reidell, Jackson, or Edea skates). No rental skates. Also, the skate shop is closed at the Y. Appropriate loose-fitting but warm attire.

Skating Levels:
LTS level 3 and above, or permission of the coach.

When:
Sundays, January 3rd through March 7th

5-Week Dates:
January: 3, 10, 17, 24, 31

9-Week Dates:
January: 3, 10, 17, 24, 31
February: 7, 21, 28 (No class or ice February 14th)
March: 7

6:10-6:40 p.m.

COVID-19 Policies and Procedures

Please note a COVID-19 Figure Skating Certification Form MUST be completed by all skaters and coaches EACH time they attend the class or participate in AFSC ice sessions. The form can be found at albanyfsc.org.

Skaters will be required to wear a mask and social distance while on and off the ice.

Refund and Cancelation Policies

No make-ups are available. No refunds will be issued without a medical excuse. A doctor’s note is required. No refunds will be issued for memberships. For details view the refund policy at http://bit.ly/AFSCrefundpolicy.

Albany FSC reserves the right to change or cancel a class. If fewer than four students are enrolled in a class, it may be canceled or combined with another class. In the event of a COVID rink closure, a prorated refund or credit will be issued.
